Nasara Foundation, a baby of the wife of the Governor of Kebbi state, Her Excellency, Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris has brought sunshine and smiles to 1,247 trainees in Kebbi state.
The Foundation trained for three months, 362 females and 46 males on Tailoring, 103 females and 83 males on Computer, 31 females and 25 males on Shoe making, 41 females on Make- up and 41 females on Catering, all of whom went home with different skills acquisition materials at their graduation ceremony and distribution of these materials, which were part of activities marking the 100 days of office for His Excellency, Governor Nasir Idris.
The ceremony which was held in conjunction with the state’s Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development took place on Monday, September 4, 2023 at the premises of the Ministry.
Speaking at the event, the Coordinator of the Foundation, Alhaji Abdulrasheed Bala described the day as one of the happiest in his life, adding that he was glad to witness the graduation ceremony of the trainees.
‘’We thank Almighty Allah for sparing our lives to witness this memorable event and we urge the beneficiaries to make use of the items given to them in promoting their standard of living.
‘’We are excited to have a Governor who is passionate about the people and our Foundation is consciously and constantly engaging the people, developing programs and ideas to build their skills and capacities, as well as investing to make their dreams a reality.
‘’This event will be the first of many as we also continue to make smart and effective investments in women and young people’s education which is critical for developing human capital. We will constantly strive to unlock opportunities as well as create a better future for women and youth in Kebbi state and beyond.’’
The event which was well attended had personalities like, the Commissioner of Women Affairs, Kebbi state Halima Hassan, Wife of Deputy Governor, Mariam Tafida, wife of Minister of state for Education, Maryam Yusuf Tanko Sununu, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs, Hajiya Aisha Mohammed Maikurata as well as the Chairmen of the Local governments in the state, Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Hon. Nura Fingilla, Commissioner of Humanitarian and Empowerment , Hon. Muhammad Hamidu Jankuka, Permanent Secretary , Ministry of Information and Culture as well as Chairmen of some local governments in the state.
