First Lady of Kebbi Welcomes Rotary Healthy Communities Challenge Team

Her Excellency, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris — First Lady of Kebbi State and Founder of Nasara Foundation — warmly hosted the Rotary Healthy Communities Challenge Team on Friday, May 23, 2025, at her office in Birnin Kebbi.

Led by Country Lead Past District Governor Dele Balogun, the delegation included Chair, Advocacy Committee, Past Assistant Governor, Festus Adetonwa, Rotarian Kashim Yakub, and PATH’s Kebbi State representative, Dr. Murtala Muhammad, among others.

The team is working to reduce child mortality from malaria, pneumonia, and diarrhea — the leading causes of death among children under five — beginning in Kebbi and Akwa Ibom states.

PDG Balogun said the intervention would start with six Local Government areas in Kebbi, namely Augie, Bagudo, Argungu, Shanga, Fakai and Aliero. He expressed appreciation for Kebbi’s outstanding support and called for continued collaboration, particularly from the First Lady and Governor Dr. Nasir Idris, to ensure the success of the initiative.

In response, Her Excellency pledged her full support:

“As the mother of the state, I assure you that we will support your team here in Kebbi to make this project a successful one.”

Also present were Prof. Halima Muhammad Bande (Kebbi State Commissioner of Education), Abubakar Bagudo Muhammad (Director of Public Health), Bashar Attah (PPS to the Governor), Hajiya Bilkisu Muhammad Nasir (CEO, Nasara Foundation), and Segun Adebowale (Lead Consultant, Nasara Foundation).
